Christmas In Ol' San Antone | Bobby Flores Musical Bio:class="centertextheader"> 1968 - 1970: At age seven, performed professionally at local functions and on the gospel circuit in the Texas area as gospel duo with his mom, Mary Jane Flores. Performed with a traveling Christian group, the Young Americans For Christ. 1970: Began working nightclubs professionally at age nine as a featured single artist with George Chambers & The Country Gentlemen. 1971-1980: Formed first band at 13, played clubs and fairs. Opened for Larry Gatlin, Tanya Tucker, Conway Twitty, Johnny Rodriguez, Marty Robbins, Bobby Bare, and Wynn Stewart. Featured in a regional Big Red soft drink TV commercial. Played with several regional bands. Member of the late Jimmy Peters’ “Texas Juke-Box Band”. Member of the KKYX Road show team performing across the state. Recorded first of four regionally charted singles. First album released shortly afterwards. 1980 -1981: Band leader/show opener/fiddle player for Johnny Bush and the Bandoleros. 1981 - 1982: Vocalist/guitarist for top 40 dance band “Gone City”. Toured Southern US. 1983 -1986: Joined popular San Antonio rock band “The Boiz”. Played violin with Trinity University Community Orchestra. Began classical guitar studies, and served as a guitar instructor at Dellview Music. 1986 - 1988: Worked with local groups Mass Transit, Joe Aero & Blackjack, Rocky Thompson & The Lost Hat Band. 1988 - 1996: Formed band “Angel Fire” with brother Greg and sister Sandra and played Texas “A” circuit, several top rooms in Texas. Opened for Steve Wariner, Vince Gill, Shenandoah, George Strait, Diamond Rio, Garth Brooks and others. Began part time performances with Ray Price. 1996 - 1997: Fiddle, guitar and vocals with David Kersh (Curb Records). Toured the US and Canada. Performed on several television and radio programs including Prime Time TNN. Concert opener for Lee Ann Rimes, Tracy Lawrence, Brian White, Collin Raye, Deana Carter, and others. Steel guitar for Emilio including performances at George Strait’s Country Music Festival at the Alamodome and Six Flags Over Texas in San Antonio, TX. Fiddle player for Ray Price. Appeared on televised Grand Ole Opry and Prime Time shows. Played several consecutive Willie Nelson 4th of July picnics in Luckenbach, and numerous other dates across US. 1997 - 2001: First violin / fiddle for Ray Price and the Cherokee Cowboys. 2001 - 2004: Fiddle with Jake Hooker and the Outsiders. 2005 to present: Now fronts his own group, The Bobby Flores Band, and performs extensively throughout the Southwest.
