His first single, “He’s a Cowboy,” charted in 1984. His music was especially hot in Europe, where he had six top-10 songs. He nearly always attracted the best musicians to play in his band. What words do you start with to describe the Kickshiker Band? Talented, for sure would be in the top five. The duo consists of Butch and Pat Rich, a husband a wife team that is possibly one of the best bands in the Texas Panhandle. With Butch on guitar and Pat on keyboards, it’s hard to imagine how two people could be this entertaining and talented. When you combine the two together you get a knocked out, in-your-face, truly unique country sound. The Kickshiker Band has recently been enjoying some play on satellite radio. “The Bill Mack Show had several requests to hear the Kickshiker Band, so I sent him an email. He called us back personally and wanted to get our CD so he could listen to it and within a few days, we were hearing our music on satellite radio, which reaches coast to coast! Talk about a thrill, “ says Pat.

What exactly is going on here? That joyful noise you hear is called Texas Swing - an eclectic blend of jazz, swing, country, bluegrass, blues and boogie-woogie that'll have you smiling so wide your cheeks will hurt. Invented "way down Texas way" in the 1930's by a cigar-chompin' part-time barber named Bob Wills, Texas swing blends the sounds of traditional big-band jazz with the western style influences of fiddle and steel guitar. Almost all major country acts today include a swing tune or two in their repertoires. But the sound is so refreshing, so infectious, and so damn much fun, that you can't help but wonder why they don't just play it all the time. Obviously, this is no ordinary band. This is an adventure in good taste. From their jazzed up version of the Bob Wills classic, "San Antonio Rose," to the rousing chorus of "Miles and Miles of Texas," this is good-time music that's guaranteed to have you grinnin' all the way from Austin to Boston.
"If you like real honest country, western swing, and hood ol' honky tonk, you're gonna love Steel Country. The band features good pickin' and singin' with all the feel of a seasoned honky tonk band. You can tell these guys have done this type of music for a long time. Even the instrumentals have a cool easy chug to them. Chuck's songwriting speaks for itself. I know you will love listening to steel country. " (Redd Vokleart)
"Western music was the bread and butter of south Texs and a good band could work every night. The All Stars distinct style is the result of hard work and an effort to play what the people want to hear" Al had one of the earliest recordings of "Cotton Eyed Joe" which was recorded in the 60's and still selling today. In this album the All Stars have belended in some of the more contemporary standards with the "Cotton Eyed Joe". On this album, Al Dean is still "playing what the people want to hear".
Hailing from New Zealand, Ann Pascoe is a true Country Lady! Periodically someone has a "God given" message (in music, in poetry, in art etc) they just HAVE TO SHARE!!! This artist (I view) has one of those messages through the combination of her beautiful vocals with the lyrics of the songs she elects to sing!..... The fact is that when we, the receiving audience, has it DELIVERED to us, it awakens our testament to FAITH, LOVE, HOPE etc. "Where Words Fail...Music Speaks" and Ann's music proves that without a doubt.
